the best bites this month

Domo

San Francisco

located in hayes valley, this small sushi spot did not disappoint.
would recommend coming for lunch or during the week to secure
a spot inside. we tried the hamachi crudo (my favorite), hot tuna, and cucumber
salad all of which i'd order again!

El Agave Restaurant & Tequileria

San Diego

located in old town, i was recommended this spot from my friend, Natasha. and i quote, "it was the best Mexican food she has ever had," therefore i had to drag all of my friends to try & it was WORTH IT. we are all still thinking about our bone marrow filet tacos. gosh my mouth is still watering. PLEASE try these tacos the next time you are in SD!

RadHaus

San Francisco

located in fort mason, i came during midday with my girl friends on a sunny day & was able to
sit at the bar. this post is mostly for the vibe because as the drinks were amazing & the meatballs, we
were disappointed by the size of pretzel. granted, it was still a great pretzel with reallllyyy
spicy mustard, a large pretzel screams a good time.

BLACK BIRD BOOKSTORE + CAFE

San Francisco

located in outer sunset, i was determined to try this matcha latte that everyone (on tiktok) was raving about.
i did indeed get a speeding ticket on my way here, however, it was so worth it. it was a delicious matcha latte.
i got it unsweetened as usual! was it my favorite ever? probably not #1, but definitely a good one!

Stone Brewing

San Diego

we visited the liberty station location to kill time before our flight.
best idea ever. the flights were ~$12 for 4 5oz pours. steal in our
opinion. we also ordered food: pretzel (great size, slightly overcooked) &
poke nachos (no notes). such a fun day time activity with friends & they
have multiple locations.

55 South

San Jose

a cocktail bar located in downtown san jose. my friends & I
decided to bar hop around downtown and try different cocktails as
we have lived in the area our whole life and have yet to try many bars around
the area. one memorable cocktail was their twist on a lemon drop with oolong &
ginger. it was everything I'd want in a cocktail and they had an extensive menu.
sadly, wish i got a photo, but we did wish it was in a better glass.

Callie

San Diego

located in downtown. we loved the vibe of this place & the food options
were delicious and great quality. one consideration would be the 20% automatic
gratuity no matter the size of the party and a 4% surcharge on top of that.
we ordered cocktails & the special lamb raviolis YUM YUM YUM & hummus
to share (we could've probably ordered 2 for our group of 5).

Academic Coffee

Santa Clara

recently opened by valley fair this is one of my frequently
visited shops now. the coffee is great (especially their matcha) & a
great place to lock down and get some work done, however, they do not have
outlets for your devices. they are known for their banana cold foam matcha!

Sula

Sausalito/Golden Gate Area

located at cavallo point, they have two connected restaurants, sula & farley.
one is more elevated (sula) and one is more bar food vibes (farley). but
they serve similar foods. we ate at sula to celebrate my mom's birthday &
it was the perfect new place! we ordered a bunch of apps to share: pear burrata,
tuna poke, and a miso caesar (would pass on this next time).

s&s deserves its spot on the list this month because cereal month (march)
at S&S is definitely the best. an s&s month has yet to top this iconic one.

San Francisco

on the hunt for the best deli sandwich in the area. this one is located just near the presidio.
started off with a fantastic spot & will def be back. we ordered the san
franpsycho (classic) on dutch crunch. i shall report back when i find a spot
that tops this one...
